Summary : This prayer is a beautiful tapestry of praise combining the traits of Lord Vishnu and His incarnation, Lord Rama. The song begins by praising His radiant, enchanting appearance—His lotus-like eyes, the Kaustubha gem glowing on His chest, and His beautiful golden clothes. It then shifts to celebrate His heroic deeds as Rama: being the pride of the Raghu dynasty, marrying Sita (Kshitija), subduing Parashurama, and vanquishing the demon race. The hymn also highlights His compassionate nature as the savior of Gajendra (the elephant king) and the ultimate refuge for his devotees. It concludes with a deep, personal surrender, where the seeker acknowledges the Lord as a boundless ocean of mercy and humbly bows to His divine lotus feet, asking for daily protection.
Shlokam : "I bow to Lord Vishnu, whose form is serene, who reclines upon the cosmic serpent Ādiśesha, whose navel bears the lotus from which creation arises, and who is the Lord of the gods. He is the support of the universe, vast as the sky, dark as a rain cloud, and endowed with auspicious beauty. He is the beloved of Lakshmi, lotus-eyed, and attainable through the meditation of yogis. He removes the fear of worldly existence and is the one supreme Lord of all the worlds."
