Summary : This majestic hymn is a deep prayer of absolute, round-the-clock surrender (prapatti) to the Divine Mother, addressing her as Parvati, Lalitha, and Annapoorneswari. The Request: The song opens and closes with raw, heartfelt appeals—the devotee identifies as a humble servant begging for maternal mercy (krupā) and a total shelter from fear (abhayam) day and night. The Cosmic Majesty: The verses elevate the Mother beyond standard bounds, describing her as an infinite ocean of joy with neither a beginning nor an end. She is so powerful that supreme cosmic creators like Brahma (Sarasija bhava), celestial rulers like Indra, and enlightened silent mystics like Sanaka continually bow at her lotus feet. The Beautiful Forms: The lyrics shift wonderfully between her roles. She is the ultimate cosmic queen (Jagannayike), the beautiful lotus-eyed maiden sharing an intimate, loving space as the consort of Lord Shiva (Angajaripu), and finally, the nurturing mother (Annapoorneswari) who feeds and protects all life.
