Meaning

Summary : This composition is a poetic and deeply aesthetic offering to the Divine Mother, packed with traditional metaphors: The Deity: The hymn is dedicated to Goddess Anandavalli, recognized here as the daughter of the mountains (Parvati), the eternal consort of Lord Shiva, and the auspicious sister of Lord Padmanabha (Vishnu). The Mother's Form: The verses paint a stunning picture of her beauty. Her hair is dark like rain clouds, her forehead curves like the crescent moon, her face glows like the autumn moon, her teeth are like tiny jasmine buds, and her feet are softer than Parijata sprouts.
The Grace: She is described as a savior who easily untangles and removes the web of anxieties, sins, and darkness from the lives of ordinary, suffering people. The hymn closes with a heartfelt prayer asking this supreme ruler of the universe to make the devotee’s heart her permanent home.
