Summary :          This traditional devotional hymn is composed in deep adoration of Goddess Bhadrakali (invoked as Amme Narayana, Devi Narayana, Lakshmi Narayana, and Kaliyuga Varada) residing at the renowned Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathy Temple in Mavelikkara, Alappuzha, Kerala. Structured as a complete, classical keshadipada and padadikesha (head-to-toe and toe-to-head) contemplation, the verses celebrate Her awe-inspiring iconography—from Her crescent-crowned hair, fiery eyes, sword, and skull garland down to Her ankle ornaments and cosmic dance of power. The composition forms an earnest community prayer of total surrender, beseeching the Mother who delights in sacred ablutions to dispel the afflictions of the Kali Yuga and shower benevolent boons upon all devotees.

Charanam-1 : I bow before Your sacred divine form that radiates with the brilliant effulgence of the blazing sun; I fold my hands in adoration before the celestial crown bearing the crescent eighth-day moon; I revere Your long, curling locks of hair dark as rain-bearing clouds, and worship the delicate forelocks that resemble the sheen of black honeybees, chanting the sacred names of Amme Narayana, Devi Narayana, Lakshmi Narayana, and Bhadre Narayana.

Charanam-2 : I worship Your divine third eye and the sacred vermilion tilak adorning Your holy forehead; I revere Your arched eyebrows that surpass the elegance of a curved bow; I bow before Your piercing eyes flashing with radiant fire, and adore Your sacred nose delicate as a fragrant sesame flower.

Charanam-3 : I fold my hands before Your lips tender and red like ripe ivy gourd (kova fruit); I revere Your sharp, curved teeth, fangs, and tongue; I adore Your smooth twin cheeks that outshine a polished mirror, and worship the radiant beauty of Your divine countenance shining with the splendor of the full moon.

Charanam-4 : I revere the ornaments in Your ears bearing emblems of the elephant and the noble lion; I bow before the exquisite jewels that adorn Your sacred neck; I worship Your divine bosom, and revere the bridal tally and the formidable garland of severed skulls (mundamala) resting upon Your sacred chest.

Charanam-5 : I bow before the flashing, curved sword held firmly in Your sacred hands; I revere the trident, skull bowl, and sacrificial emblems displayed in Your divine aura; I worship Your graceful abdomen resembling an auspicious banyan leaf, and bow before the pleated, flowing silk robes draped around Your form.

Charanam-6 : I worship the crimson silk garments and radiant necklaces adorning Your chest and torso; I bow before Your strong thighs majestic like the trunk of an elephant; I revere Your divine shanks and knees that move with sublime grace.

Charanam-7 : I bow before Your delicate ankles fair as screw-pine (ketaki) blossoms; I worship Your graceful toes and the lustrous rows of nails shining upon Your lotus feet; I bow before the sweet, resonant tinkling of the sacred anklets adorning Your feet.

Charanam-8 : I bow before Your fierce and awe-inspiring cosmic dance of dissolution (prachanda tandavam); I revere Your sacred rhythm that guides the dance of life itself; I bow before Your holy form revered by all mortals on earth, and worship Your lotus feet bowed to by all three cosmic worlds.

Charanam-9 : Beholding Your divine physical form completely from head to toe (keshadipada), I bow in continuous devotion; praising the Divine Mother without pause, I fold my hands to seek blessings for all living beings, offering my worship and hymns unto the Goddess presiding over Chettikulangara.

Charanam-10 : I bow before the Divine Mother who protects all surrendered devotees; with fervent devotion, I praise Her day after day; contemplating Her divine form from feet to head, I surrender and bow entirely before the compassionate Mother of Chettikulangara.

Charanam-11 : I worship the Divine Mother who delights in sacred ritual ablutions (abhishekam); I fold my hands in praise so that She may bestow benevolent boons upon everyone; praising Her flawless, immaculate divine presence, I offer repeated prostrations unto Goddess Chettikulangara Bhagavathy.

Charanam-12 : Beholding Your holy presence from foot to crest and extolling Your form from crest to foot, I bow down in deep supplication; to eradicate all the tribulations, sorrows, and impurities of the Kali Yuga, I fold my hands in praise before the supreme grantor of boons in this dark age.
