Meaning
Summary :     This devotional hymn is dedicated to Goddess Parvati worshipped as Goddess Dharma Samvardhini (the multiplier and nourisher of Dharma), the divine consort of Lord Shiva. The lyrics specifically extol Her divine presence at the sacred shrine of Thiruvaiyaru along the banks of the Cauvery, celebrated in the hymn as Panchanadhi (the sacred five-river confluence / Panchanatheeswarar Temple abode). Depicted as the sister of Lord Vishnu, the mother of Lord Guruguha, and the queen of Mahadeva, the hymn praises Her as the dispeller of all tribulations and the grantor of both worldly desires and spiritual wisdom. The verses form a heartfelt prayer of total surrender, seeking the maternal grace of the Mother who embodies the combined cosmic light of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.

Pallavi : O Mother Dharma Samvardhini, nurturer and protector of righteousness, who fosters and nourishes all living beings like Her own children; O garland-adorned daughter of the mountain King (Himavan), I worship and adore You; shower Your boundless mercy and compassion upon me, protect me, protect me!

Charanam-1 : O Goddess who resides eternally within pristine, pure-hearted souls, the perennial bestower of transcendental bliss; the dispeller of spiritual ignorance through the wisdom of rightful action and supreme knowledge, who generously grants the fruits of all cherished desires and spiritual aspirations.

Charanam-2 : O Mother who delights the minds and hearts of righteous and saintly souls (sadhus), eternal Mother of Lord Guruguha (Subrahmanya); the very embodiment of spiritual joy and ecstasy, immaculate Niranjana, sovereign Empress of all worlds (Bhuvaneshwari), and the ultimate destroyer of suffering, affliction, and worldly grief.

Charanam-3 : O divine sister of Lord Madhava (Vishnu), enchanting and beauteous one, Shankari adored in the auspicious Madhyamavati raga; sweet and youthful nurturing Mother of all existence, the supreme eternal consort and queen of Mahadeva's household.

Charanam-4 : O Mother whose divine feet adorn and illuminate the entire universe with celestial grace, who revels and shines joyously along the holy banks of the five sacred rivers (Panchanadi); the eternal believer and living embodiment of the Vedas and Shastras, radiating as the united divine effulgence of Brahma (Vidhi), Vishnu (Hari), and Shiva (Hara).
