Meaning
Summary :      This devotional composition is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa (invoked as Dharma Sastha, Bhoothanatha, and the son of Shiva) in relation to His sacred presence at the Mundapuzha Sree Dharma Sastha Temple (Ranni, Pathanamthitta) along the banks of the sacred Pamba River. It presents a complete keshadipada (head-to-toe) contemplation of the deity, describing His gem-studded golden crown, lotus eyes, sapphire necklaces, fragrant sandalwood-smeared form, and anklet-adorned lotus feet alongside consorts Poorna and Pushkala. The hymn forms a heartfelt prayer for inner mental purification, deliverance from earthly suffering and afflictions of Saturn, and the attainment of supreme liberation (mukti) through total surrender at the Lord's lotus feet.

Pallavi : O Lord Ayyappa, I take supreme refuge in You; Lord Ayyappa, I surrender unto You.

Charanam-1 : Let us bow down before the divine Lord who protects righteousness (Dharma), Lord Dharma Sastha; I fold my hands in reverent devotion before the Lord who gracefully resides at Mundapuzha.

Charanam-2 : O Lord of the universe, beloved son of Lord Shambhu (Shiva), dwelling peacefully upon the holy banks of the river Pamba; please protect us, Your humble servants, with loving tenderness and remove our sorrows and distress.

Charanam-3 : I bow before Your sacred forehead and radiant golden crown adorned with lustrous gems, as well as Your twin compassionate eyes that outshine blossoming lotus flowers.

Charanam-4 : Gazing upon Your charmingly radiant smiling lips and Your splendid ear pendants (kundalas), I bow down in humble worship.

Charanam-5 : I revere Your divine countenance that shines with the brilliant brilliance of the sun, adorned with a magnificent garland set with indraneelam (sapphire) gemstones and radiant ear ornaments.

Charanam-6 : I worship Your sacred hands holding divine nectar (amrit) and the sacred dagger weapon (churika), Your delicate form smeared with fragrant sandalwood paste (kalabham), and Your holy torso.

Charanam-7 : I bow before the waist adorned with silky garments resembling dark rainclouds, and Your holy lotus feet shimmering with melodiously chiming anklets.

Charanam-8 : Removing all my tribulations and pain, please come and reside within the chamber of my heart; purifying my mind and nurturing true devotion within me, grant me ultimate liberation (mukti).

Charanam-9 : Spreading the cool, complete radiance of the full moon alongside the divine presence of Poorna and Pushkala, may Your complete, sublime form ever bestow boundless bliss and joy within my being.

Charanam-10 : O supreme Lord and master of the Kali Yuga, O Lord of Saturn and sovereign master of all, O Lord of the Bhootas (Bhoothanatha); please look upon us with boundless compassion and safeguard Your humble servants.
