Summary : This devotional hymn is a solemn adoration of Lord Ganesha, portraying him as the eternal, golden-hued, elephant-faced son of Shiva and Parvati who serves as the ultimate protector of all three worlds. It glorifies his boundless mercy, radiant countenance, and supreme intellect, highlighting his role as the destroyer of all sorrows and human distress. The hymn emphasizes his constant guidance along every step of a devotee's journey and his dedicated involvement in the welfare of all people. Ultimately, this sacred chant serves to cultivate deep faith, inner strength, and devotion to Lord Vighneshwara, the lord of all obstacles.
Slokam : I meditate upon Lord Vighneshwara—the pure, eternal God and leader of all heavenly attendants, who glows like pure gold. He is the elephant-faced son of Gauri and Shiva, whose eyes overflow with mercy. Endowed with four arms, he bestows auspiciousness, embodies the supreme Truth, and provides safe refuge to all people of the universe at his feet.
Pallavi : I bow down to the Lord of the Ganas, the son of the three-eyed Lord Shiva, who is the sole refuge across all three worlds.
Anupallavi : I pray to the elephant-faced Lord who is an abode of compassion, the beloved son of Goddess Gauri who destroys the suffering and distress of those who listen to and follow his path.
Charanam 1 : I seek refuge in Lord Ganapati—the ancient one who delights the minds of all people, whose face is encircled by boundless divine brilliance, who possesses great intellect, noble conduct, and shines with the radiance of a hundred suns.
Charanam 2 : I adore the curved-trunk Lord whose beautiful face always bears a pleasant smile and whose form glows with splendour. He is adept at destroying all sorrows, humbles the pride of the wealthy (like Kubera), and represents the virtuous merit of Lord Shiva.
Charanam 3 : I worship Lord Ganesha, the repository of all virtues, who guides and helps my steps along every path, remains ever-active for the welfare of the people, possesses a joyful disposition, and is skilled at protecting and sustaining his devotees.
