Meaning
Summary :          This is a devotional song dedicated to Lord Krishna residing at the specific, historic temple/abode known as Idamana (Idamana Illam/Temple). The lyrics describe an Aapaada Kesha description—praising the Lord's beauty from head to toe—in the form of a sweet, child-like deity.

Pallavi :The devotee bows down with deep love and devotion to Lord Krishna (Kannan) who resides at Idamana. They praise Him as the very personification of mercy and sing hymns in His honor.

Anupallavi :The devotee addresses Krishna as Ramakantha (the consort of Goddess Lakshmi) and compares His endless mercy to an ocean. They pray: "Oh nectar-like Lord who dissolves the waves of compassion and understands the heavy burdens of our life's problems, I bow before you."

Charanam 1: This verse focuses on the Lord's face. The devotee praises the gentle smile on His divine face, His reassuring eyes that grant protection (nayanaabhayam), the beautiful mark (thilakam) on His child-like forehead, and His lips displaying rows of teeth that look like a row of flowers. They offer prayers to Hrishikesha (the master of the senses).

Charanam 2 :The devotee praises Krishna as Janardhana. They picture His lips tasting the pure fresh butter fed to Him by holy devotees, His curly locks of hair, the peacock feather adorning His crown, His beautiful nose, and the leaf-shaped ornaments (othila) swinging elegantly on His ears.

Charanam 3 : This verse describes His body and attire. The devotee praises His soft, reddish baby-skin, the bright yellow silk garments (peethambara) He wears, His tender hands, and the beautiful necklaces/garlands (haaraadhikal) that bring pure joy to anyone who looks at Him. The singer calls out to Him as the wielder of the bow Saranga (Sarangapane) and the final refuge for everyone.

Charanam 4 : The final lines are an outpouring of complete surrender. The singer bows to the glorious Lord of the Universe (Jagannatha), the gemstone-hued Mukunda, and the Lord of Mathura (Madhuraadhipathe). They conclude by saying that they bind their heart to the Lord of Idamana, singing praises of the dark cloud-complexioned (Kaarmukil varnnan) Krishna from head to toe.
