Meaning
Summary :         This is a prayer dedicated to Lord Ayyappa (Manikandan), hailing Him as the supreme protector, the lord of all beings, and the very embodiment of eternal bliss and compassion.

The hymn begins by invoking His divine lineage as the son of Lord Shiva (the crescent-moon adorned) and Lord Vishnu (Hari), born to protect the universe. The devotee surrenders completely, begging the Lord to shatter the web of worldly illusions (Maya) and destroy all earthly sorrows.

Shlokam: The prayer opens by hailing Lord Ayyappa as the master of all living beings and the source of eternal bliss. Recognizing His infinite compassion, the devotee begs the mighty-armed Lord to grant absolute protection.

Pallavi: This celebrates the Lord's divine birth as the son of Shiva (the moon-adorned) and Vishnu (Hari). The devotee calls upon Manikanta, praising His enchanting form and His heart, which is a reservoir of pure mercy.

Anupallavi: Addressing Him as the beloved Prince of the Panthalam kingdom, the devotee prays for spiritual liberation, asking the Lord to shatter the web of worldly illusions (Maya) that entangles the human mind.

Charanam 1: This section paints a vivid picture of His serene beauty and power. His face radiates the calm of the moon, and His eyes are wide like lotus petals. While He gently erases the worldly sorrows of His devotees, He strikes terror into evil forces as He rides majestically upon a tiger.

Charanam 2: Here, the Lord's royal splendor is on display. He wears earrings that gleam like the morning sun and necklaces crafted from fine blue sapphires. Seated on a grand golden throne, His powerful presence is softened by a gentle, playful nature and a charming smile.

Charanam 3: The song concludes by honoring His supreme intellect and virtue. His hands are flawless in the use of weapons, yet His mind is filled with the nectar of all sacred scriptures. Free from all worldly desires, His holy life inspires goodness, and His sacred feet are worshipped by the entire universe.
