Summary : This devotional hymn is dedicated to Lord Poornathrayeesha of Thripunithura (Lord Maha Vishnu / Sree Rama / Santhana Gopalamoorthy) presiding over the historic Sree Poornathrayeesha Temple in Thrippunithura, Kerala, the sacred royal shrine reverently worshipped by the rulers of the Cochin kingdom (Madamaheesha desham). The song depicts the majestic sanctity of the shrine adorned with the golden Garuda atop the holy flagpost, glowing ceremonial festival lamps, and dawns offering the radiant sun like a lotus at the Lord's feet. It extols the deity as the all-pervading cosmic reality whose boundless blessings are entirely sufficient to bring fulfillment to a mortal lifetime and secure final liberation to Paramapada. The composition forms an intimate surrender at the holy Sopanam, praising the benevolent glance of Lord Poornathrayeesha that gently cleanses human faults and transforms the devotee's life into sweet song.
Shlokam : The divine sovereignty is whole, perfect, and absolute, and the supreme cosmic truth of the universe is ever complete; Lord Poornathrayeesha fulfills all cherished hopes and desires, while atop the sacred temple flagstaff gleams the golden effulgence of Vainatheya (Garuda). The auspicious festival courtyard and holy threshold are fully illuminated with glowing lamp wicks, forever making complete and sanctified the divine temple courtyard of the Lord, revered and prostrated to by the land of the Kochi royal realm (Madamaheesha desham).
Pallavi : Glory to You, O Lord Sree Hari, Lord Poornathrayeeshwara! Your sacred lotus feet alone are my absolute refuge and surrender. In the tender blossom-hands of the fresh dawns awakening in devout prostration, the sun shines like an offering lotus, rendering all their devotional offerings completely fulfilled and fruitful.
Charanam-1 : The supreme Lord, who is the all-pervading soul of the entire universe, bestows countless blessings and bountiful spiritual experiences. To fulfill and enrich an entire human lifetime, that divine grace alone is sufficient; to attain and reach the supreme celestial abodes (Paramapada / Vaikuntha), that blessing alone is more than enough.
Charanam-2 : Because the gentle feather-touch of the corner of Your holy compassionate glance constantly arrives to correct and forgive all of my flaws and missteps, life has turned sweet and melodic like a two-line verse for this humble servant, which I now sing in loving devotion before Your sacred sanctum steps (Sopanam).
