Summary : This hymn captures the heartfelt repentance, profound relief, and devotional praise of the grieving Brahmin (Vipran) from the Santhana Gopalam narrative. Having previously rebuked Lord Krishna and Arjuna in his intense distress over the loss of his newborn children, the Brahmin returns filled with gratitude after they retrieve his children from Vaikuntha. He begs forgiveness for his past harsh words and proclaims that anyone who remembers the Lord will be blessed with immense prosperity and grace. The central deity addressed is Lord Krishna (Mahavishnu/Vasudeva), accompanied by Arjuna.
Charanam 1: Glory to Krishna, and glory to the valiant Phalguna (Arjuna). The devotee/Brahmin pleads with them not to hold against him the bitter reproaches and harsh words he had previously hurled in deep agony and overpowering grief.
Charanam 2: O Krishna, do not hold any of those past grievances in your heart; O lord of boundless, unhindered strength and valor, please forgive and overlook every outburst born of sorrow.
Charanam 3: Whoever meditates upon You and keeps You in their thoughts shall be bestowed with boundless auspiciousness and great fortune; glory to Lord Krishna!
