അംബിനോട് നീ അമിക്കണം (മാറിലൊനെന്നെ)

ചന്ദമേറും തിരുമേനി ചന്ദ്രബിംബാനനെ ദേവി

Summary : This hymn is a heartfelt plea for protection and divine joy addressed to the compassionate daughter of Lord Shiva. The devotee surrenders completely at her golden lotus feet, begging her to wash away all personal sins, worldly impurities, and intense sorrows without any delay. Written with an attitude of intimate affection, the singer longs to be embraced tenderly by the Mother and asks for the swift fulfillment of their deepest desires. The song explicitly celebrates the Goddess as the moon-faced, exceptionally beautiful sovereign who resides and rules in the famous town of Cheranalloor. Finally, it culminates in a deeply moving prayer for salvation, asking the Mother to appear in her exquisite form right beside the devotee during the ultimate hour of death.
Pallavi: The devotee addresses the Supreme Mother as the daughter of the enemy of time/death (Lord Shiva is Kaalavairi, and She is His Nandhini or daughter/manifestation). The prayer is a straightforward, soulful plea: "O Ambika, filled with absolute compassion (kaarunyapoorne), please protect and look after me continuously."
Anupallavi: This line describes the act of complete submission. The devotee says, "For those of us who fall at your lotus-like feet with all our might (paada pankajae veezhunnor), please banish our deep miseries and sorrows, and bestow ultimate, divine joy upon us, O Devi."
Charanam 1: Focusing on deliverance from hardship, the singer declares, "To wash away all my deep-seated agonies and afflictions (aarthi), I bow every single day with pure devotion at your golden flower-like feet. O lotus-eyed Mother (Pankajaakshi), O destroyer of sins and impurities (Pankanaashi), please cleanse all my taints without delay and gather me close to your lotus presence."
Charanam 2: Written in a style of intimate, childlike surrender, this stanza asks for maternal affection. The devotee asks to be embraced like a child against the Mother's protective chest with deep love (ambinodu). The devotee asks, "Will my heartfelt desires be fulfilled? Will you support me, O charming Mother? O daughter of Shiva, please do not make me wait any longer; come to my aid swiftly."
Charanam 3: This verse grounds the hymn to a specific sacred space and echoes a prayer for final salvation. It exalts the Goddess as the beautiful Sovereign of the world (loka sundhari) who resides and rules in the highly celebrated town of Cheranalloor (kaeli aerum cheraanellooril). The singer prays, "When the final hour of my life arrives (andhya kaalam anayumpol), I yearn to see your exquisite, moon-faced form standing right beside me (anthikae)."
