Summary :           This devotional hymn is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali (invoked in Her cosmic terrifying forms as Kaali, Karaali, Kaalabhairavi, Kapaalini, and Ugra Maheshwari). The composition extols Her emergence from the blazing third eye of Lord Shiva, portraying Her wearing a crown of serpents, shining with the dark hue of heavy storm clouds, and adorned with a garland of severed hands while moving across the cosmic skies to destroy demonic forces. Celebrating Her deep affinity for sacred hymns, rhythmic dance, and songs of adoration, the hymn forms an earnest plea for divine protection and deliverance.

Shlokam : Salutations unto You, O fierce Goddess (Ugra), supreme sovereign Empress (Maheshwari), the great terrifying manifestation of Kaalabhairavi; O beloved daughter/delight of the wielder of the Pinaka bow (Lord Shiva), the auspicious blue-throated consort Srikanthi, O Divine Mother Kali, I bow down before You.

Pallavi : O Kali, O dread-inspiring Karali, who bursts into terrifying, formidable laughter, bearing the sacred skull-bowl (Kapala); born from the fiery third eye of the conqueror of Time and Death (Shiva), O immense and awe-inspiring Mother, protect and deliver me!
