Summary : The hymn is dedicated to Lord Poornathrayeesha of Thripunithura. The singer intensely expressing the devotee's longing to constantly behold His divine form. The song opens with a legendary temple myth, honoring the profound devotion of the master sculptor whose life breath completely dissolved into the molten metal crucible while casting the deity's idol. The verses paint a stunning, serene portrait of the Lord, describing His golden crown, closed peaceful eyes, sandalwood-smeared chest, and four hands holding the sacred conch, discus, and lotus. It references the supreme good fortune of His consort Lakshmi, who remains by His side without ever parting, while also praising His divine role as Santhana Gopala Moorthy who humbled Arjuna's pride. Ultimately, the hymn serves as a deep meditation on absolute surrender, seeking liberation from all worldly fears at the feet of the Lord.
Slokam : I bow to the supreme deity who destroyed all worldly fears by absorbing the artisan into His own divine, gentle form. According to temple legend, when an exceptionally skilled sculptor was struggling and deeply distressed while trying to perfectly melt and blend the five metal alloys (Panchaloha) to cast Your magnificent idol, his soul melted away into the crucible. Witnessing the craftsman's absolute surrender, the Lord merged the artisan's spirit into His own form, freeing him from the cycle of rebirth.
Pallavi : O Lord Poornathrayeesha! Grant me the ultimate blessing to constantly behold Your divine lotus feet for all time.
Anupallavi : May I witness those feet, which are the ultimate mark of fortune for Nangema (Goddess Lakshmi), who resides alongside You without parting even for a split second.
Charanam 1 : I long to see Your golden crown, Your radiant forehead, and the serene, peaceful countenance of Your gently closed eyes. I long to behold Your cheeks glowing with a pure smile and the exquisite beauty of Your nose, which resembles a delicate sesame flower (Ellu poo).
Charanam 2 : I desire to gaze upon Your entire form from head to toe, adorned with lotus garlands, and behold Your sacred chest smeared with cooling sandalwood paste. I long to see Your four beautiful hands holding the holy conch, discus, and lotus, and Your form draped in garments woven with pleated golden threads (Kasavu).
Charanam 3 : I long to witness the ultimate spiritual reward and past-life merits (Mujjanma punyam) of that sculptor who dissolved his very life breath into the alloy crucible. I pray to behold Your magnificent form as Santhana Gopala Moorthy—the savior who humbled the pride of Arjuna (Parthan) during his quest to save the Brahmin's children.
