Meaning
Summary :   This beautiful hymn is a heartfelt prayer to the Divine Mother residing in Kumarapuram, pleading for her mercy to remove all worldly miseries. The verses exalt her supreme cosmic nature, identifying her as the ultimate manifestation of Goddesses Saraswati, Bhoomi, Uma, and Parvati. Acknowledging that her feet are eternally worshiped by celestial beings and sages like Narada, the devotee surrenders entirely to her as their only true refuge. Most movingly, the song includes a soulful plea for her protective presence during the final moment of death, asking her to safeguard the singer as her own child. Ultimately, she is celebrated as a magnificent, radiant deity who fills the universe with joy and bestows abundant auspiciousness.

Pallavi: The devotee addresses the Goddess enshrined at the Karthikeya temple (Kaarthikeya+alaya+ishwari). The prayer is a direct plea: "O Supreme Mother and Protector (Naadhae), by your absolute ocean of mercy, please completely destroy my intense sorrows and worldly afflictions (aarthi)."

Anupallavi: To achieve this grace, the devotee pledges complete surrender, stating, "I bow repeatedly and continuously every single day at your tender, flower-like feet. O Destroyer of all miseries (Aarthinaashini), let your unblemished blessings shower upon me entirely."

Charanam 1: This stanza praises the all-encompassing cosmic nature of the Goddess. The singer declares, "When I look closely, you are Goddess Saraswati (Bhaarathi), you are the sustaining Mother Earth (Bhoomi), you are the elegant Uma, and you are the graceful, majestic Parvati who walks with the dignity of an elephant. O Sovereign of the Universe (Bhuvaneshwaree), please shine forth with immense joy."

Charanam 2: This is a soulful prayer for the end of life. The devotee asks, "At the ultimate hour of my death (anthya-kaalathinkal), when Yama, the god of death (anthakan), approaches, may your sacred presence appear beautifully right beside me. O Beloved of Shiva (Andhakaari priyae), remembering me as your own child (santhathi), please protect me for eternity."

Charanam 3: This verse highlights her exalted nature, worshiped by higher realms: "Your sacred, essential feet (saaramaam chaevadi) are worshipped daily by great sages like Narada, as well as by the divine celestial beings—the Siddhas, Gandharvas, and Charanas. Please place me gently at those very feet and graciously take care of me."

Charanam 4: The concluding verse reveals the location of the deity. "O Goddess who shines with the brilliant light of ten million suns (Sooryakodi prabhae)! O ultimate Beauty! I have no other refuge or support in this world but you. O primal Cause (Kaaranee), O Kaarthyaayani who resides joyfully in Kumarapuram Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple (Kumaarapura vaasae), you are the bestower of all forms of auspiciousness and abundant blessings (bhooli mangala dhaayinee)."
