Meaning

Summary : This prayer follows a traditional Keshaadi Paadha Varnanam (a head-to-toe description) structure, where a devotee systematically offers salutations (thozhunnen) to every part of Lord Krishna's divine form.
Charanam 1 : I bow to you, O Lord Mukunda, who wears a vibrant, colorful peacock feather (niramayil peeli choodum) amidst the curls of your deep, jet-black sacred hair (karukari niram ottha thiru mudi churulil).
Charanam 2 : O Mukunda, I bow to your beautiful sacred forehead adorned with a striking, elegant tilak mark (azhakerum thudukhuri aninjoru thiru netthi), and I bow to the graceful arches of your eyebrows.
Charanam 3 : I bow to your beautiful eyes, which are lined cleanly with dark kohl (anjanam thottu ezhuthum nayanangal). I also bow to your radiant earrings (kundalangal) that shine brilliantly like the sun and the moon.
Charanam 4 : I bow with folded hands to your gentle smile (smithavum)—the very smile that governs and controls the entire universe (prapancham nee niyanthrikkum). O Madhava, I bow to your immensely beautiful and auspicious face.
Charanam 5 : I bow to your sacred neck (thiru kantham), which has resonated with the deep sound of blowing your divine conch, the Panchajanya. I bow to your broad chest (virimaaru) where a golden, fresh sprig of holy Tulsi rests peacefully.
Charanam 6 : I bow to your sacred navel (thiru naabhi), from which the stem of the cosmic lotus emerges. O Madhava, I bow to your waist where your bamboo flute (mula venu) is neatly tucked.
Charanam 7 : I bow to your divine form as you stand amidst the innocent, tiny calves (kunjilam paikallodotthu). I bow to you as you stand beautifully adorned in your radiant, yellow silk garments (peethamaam pattudayaadu).
Charanam 8 : I bow to your sacred feet that danced gracefully atop the hood of the fierce serpent Kaliya (kaliyan mel nadanam aadiya thiru paadham). O Madhava, O Krishna, I pray that you fill my heart and mind completely, without ever leaving.
