Meaning
Summary :  This devotional hymn is an earnest liturgical supplication and prayer of surrender (sharanagati) dedicated to Lord Murugan (invoked as Karthikeya, Shanmukha, Guha, Bahuleya, and Velayudhan) presiding over the sacred Manamkode (Manankodu Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple) in Kerala. Opening with the canonical Sanskrit dhyana shlokam visualizing the six-faced, crimson-hued commander of the celestials mounted upon His divine peacock, the Malayalam verses celebrate His Puranic exploits in vanquishing Surapadma and Tarakasura to restore cosmic order. Depicting Him as the beloved son of Lord Shiva (Ashtamoorthy) and the divine consort of Valli, the composition extols the deity as the dispeller of existential torment and the bestower of vigor and prosperity. The hymn concludes with ecstatic rhythmic chants (Hara Haro Hara Hara), pleading for the Lord of Manamkode to dwell perennially within the devotee’s inner heart.

Shlokam : I perpetually take supreme refuge in Lord Guha—who possesses six divine faces, whose effulgent complexion glows with the radiant crimson hue of kumkum, who is endowed with supreme wisdom, who rides the celestial peacock mount, who is the noble son of Lord Rudra (Shiva), and the supreme commander-in-chief of the celestial armies.

Pallavi : Praiseworthy and supreme in all noble virtues, O merciful Lord Karthikeya! Relieving this humble devotee of all afflictions, agonies, and distress, please protect and preserve me, O Muruga!

Charanam-1 : In this earthly realm, presiding with sacred renown and boundless compassion at Manamkode (Manankodu), He is Lord Subrahmanya, the personification of grace and the true protector and savior of all seekers, Lord Muruga!

Charanam-2 : The darling child of Ashtamoorthy (Lord Shiva), He is Velayudhan, the wielder of the divine spear; to all dwellers across the cosmic realms, Lord Muruga is the bestower of vigor, strength, and abundance; having vanquished the arrogant demon Surapadma and his wicked hordes praised across the eight quarters, He joyfully bestows prosperity, flourishing grace, and divine boons.

Charanam-3 : O merciful Lord radiant as the blossom-arrowed Kamadeva, You who embraced the tender sprout-like hands of the auspicious maiden Valli with consummate grace, O doe-eyed Lord! Endowed with a countenance lovely as floral arrows, You alone are the capable Visakha, the peerless Lord comparable to the sacred origin of all blossoming beauty.

Charanam-4 : Having vanquished Taraka and other distant demonic beings, You filled the inner realms of the gods with supreme and complete fulfillment; O son of the destroyer of death (Shiva / Andhakantaka-tanaya), may Your sacred presence shine effulgently within the depths of my heart, O luminous Bahuleya!

Samarppanam : O Muruga, protect and safeguard me, O Muruga, O Shanmukha, O Vadivelava! O Velava who resides peacefully in Manamkode! O young Bala Subrahmanya, Hara Haro Hara Hara!
