Summary : This traditional devotional hymn is dedicated to Lord Sri Rama (manifested in His four-armed Chaturbahu Vishnu form as Sri Ramachandra) presiding over the renowned Thriprayar Sree Ramaswamy Temple situated on the banks of the Karuvannur (Theeva) River in Thrissur, Kerala. Structured around the classic invocatory Rama Vandana shlokam, the composition portrays the deity adorned with a lofty celestial crown, necklaces, bangles, and the four sacred Vaishnavite emblems—the conch, discus, mace, and lotus. Extolling the Lord as the granter of supreme truth who is revered by both Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva (Kamadahana), the hymn serves as an earnest supplication to cure all bodily and worldly afflictions (aamayam) and bless the devotee with perpetual protection to sing the sacred Rama Nama.
Shlokam : Salutations unto Lord Rama, unto Ramabhadra, unto Ramachandra, the creator and supreme providence; salutations to the sovereign Lord of the Raghu dynasty, the universal master, and the beloved consort of Mother Sita.
Pallavi : O renowned Lord Sri Ramachandra residing gracefully in sacred Thriprayar, dispeller and destroyer of all deep distress and agony, please protect and deliver me!
Anupallavi : In this earthly realm, noble and sincere seekers ever contemplate and realize daily that You alone are the supreme bestower of the ultimate spiritual truth (Paramartha).
Charanam-1 : O Lord possessing a form enchanting as Kamadeva, who delights in granting cherished wishes; O adorable one revered by Lord Hanuman, worshipped even by Lord Shiva (the destroyer of Kama); dispelling all my afflictions and diseases, may I sing the sacred glories of Rama's holy name; O Father of Thriprayar, Lord Rama, grant me Your eternal help and protection!
Charanam-2 : Adorned with a lofty, resplendent crown, radiant necklaces, and ear pendants, along with exceedingly beauteous armlets and bangles; bearing in Your sacred hands the conch (Shankha) echoing auspicious sounds, the discus (Chakra), the mace (Gada), and the divine lotus (Pankaja), I bow down and revere Your flower-like holy form!
