Meaning
Summary :   This devotional hymn is an earnest supplication dedicated to Lord Narasimha (invoked as Ugra Narasimha Murti and Vadakkinnu Nadhan) alongside Lord Sudarshana (Sudarshana Murti / Mahavishnu) presiding over the renowned twin-sanctum Thuravoor Mahakshethram (Thuravoor Sree Narasimha Swamy & Mahavishnu Temple) in Alappuzha, Kerala. The verses extol Lord Narasimha as the ultimate dispeller of afflictions and the granter of the Supreme Self, recalling His ferocious twilight manifestation using sharp claws to rip apart the demon Hiranyakashipu and relieve the heavy burden of the earth for devotee Prahlada. The hymn unifies the adoration of both the Northern shrine (Vadakkinnakam Narasimha) and the Southern shrine (Thekkini Sudarshana Mahavishnu), concluding with an auspicious mangalam offering refuge to Lord Hari Narayana, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Saraswati.

Pallavi : O Lord Narasimha residing gracefully within the Northern Sanctum (Vadakkinnakam) of the famed Thuravoor temple, dispeller and destroyer of all deep agony and distress, please protect and deliver me!

Anupallavi : In this earthly realm, sincere and righteous seekers constantly contemplate every day that You alone are the bestower of the Supreme Self / inner soul.

Charanam-1 : O Lord possessing a form enchanting as Kamadeva, who delights in granting cherished desires; O adorable one worshipped by Prahlada, revered even by Lord Shiva (the burner of Kama); curing and dispelling all my worldly and physical afflictions, may I sing the sacred glories of Your holy name; O Lord dwelling at Thuravoor, support and bless me with boundless joy!

Charanam-2 : In order to safeguard and protect Your ardent devotee Prahlada, at the twilight hour, You tore open the chest of the cruel demon Hiranyakashipu with Your fierce, terrifying claws, relieving Mother Earth of her intolerable burden, O Lord of the Northern Sanctum!

Samarppanam : O fierce Ugra Narasimha Murti, sovereign Lord of Thuravoor, O Narasimha, vast ocean of compassion! O Ugra Narasimha residing in the Northern Sanctum (Vadakkinnakam), and O Sudarshana Murti reigning in the Southern Sanctum (Thekkini) of Thuravoor, protect me; O valiant Lord Mahavishnu of Thuravoor!

Mangalam : Refuge in the Supreme Master who holds the divine signs of boons (varada) and fearlessness (abhaya); refuge in the Mother who flourishes in Vallabhanoor; salutations and refuge unto Lord Hari Narayana; refuge, eternal refuge in Hara Hara Shiva Shiva; refuge in the divine bee hovering over the lotus of music; refuge in the celestial driver of the chariot of wisdom; refuge in the sovereign Goddess of all, the vanquisher of evils; refuge in Goddess Saraswati, the supreme ruler over all wisdom!
