Summary : This devotional stuti is composed in praise of Goddess Bhagavathi (Bhadrakali) presiding over the sacred Pariyanampatta Bhagavathy Temple located at Kattukulam in Palakkad, Kerala. The hymn offers a traditional, exquisite keshadipada (head-to-toe) description of the deity, celebrating her radiant form glowing like rubies and sanctum lamps while dispelling all human afflictions. Each verse details her divine iconography—from her starry nose ring, crescent and vermilion tilak, twilight-hued attire, and flashing sword to her valorous expression, life-sustaining bosom, and lotus feet. It concludes as a heartfelt supplication of total physical and spiritual surrender (sashtanga namaskaram) at the compassionate feet of the divine Mother of Pariyanampatta.
Shlokam : Glowing with the luster of rubies and the radiant grace of a sacred sanctum lamp, abiding as the joyful Anandabhairavi within the sanctum sanctorum, O treasure trove of maternal love and dispeller of all distress, Mother of Pariyanampatta, I prostrate before You in humble, full-body surrender.
Charanam-1 : Adoring Your dense hair dark as deep shadows, Your gently smiling face that rivals the radiant full moon, sandal marks bearing the soft golden hue of champak blossoms, and the red vermilion tilak rising like the morning sun in the eastern sky, I behold Your sacred form and bow in daily devotion, O Bhagavathi.
Charanam-2 : Beholding Your towering golden crown rising majestic like Mount Mandara, exquisite necklaces fashioned of pearls and gems, melodious golden anklets producing wonders of sacred resonance, and the divine drawn sword flashing with the brilliance of lightning, I bow down to You daily, O Bhagavathi.
Charanam-3 : Gazing upon Your nose stud sparkling like a brilliant star, the waist bells chiming and jingling melodiously as You move, the graceful silk garment dyed in the fiery crimson glow of twilight, and the charming rings studded with lapis lazuli/cat's-eye stones, I bow down before You daily, O Bhagavathi.
Charanam-4 : Revering Your exalted crown/head where intellect and spiritual attainments reside, Your gracefully curved and attractive forehead, Your wide compassionate eyes blooming like lotus petals, and Your handsome nose pulsing with valor and noble resolve, I bow before You daily, O Bhagavathi.
Charanam-5 : Contemplating Your tender lips red as hibiscus flowers, golden cheek contours glowing with the warm blush of dusk, beautiful ears delicate as young red tender leaves, and the sacred throat from where divine musical melodies and ragas awaken, I offer daily worship, O Bhagavathi.
Charanam-6 : Adoring Your holy bosom brimming with the life-giving nectar of existence, Your slender waist and abdomen curved gracefully like a banyan leaf, Your exalted hands personifying the virtues of righteous cosmic order (dharma), and Your sacred lotus feet which serve as the ultimate refuge for devotees, I bow down before You every day, O Bhagavathi.
Samarppanam : O Mother, Goddess of Pariyanampatta, I offer my humble, full-length prostrations at Your feet.
