Meaning
Summary :    This devotional hymn opens with a classic Sanskrit verse praising Lord Shiva's cosmic form as the supreme Lord of Varanasi, adorned with the River Ganga and Goddess Parvati. It then transitions into a deeply reverent Malayalam prayer to Ernakulathappan, the blue-throated deity residing in the Ernakulam Shiva Temple. Adorned with a sacred garland of tender Bael leaves, the lotus-eyed Lord is hailed as the ultimate source of wisdom and the knower of all time. Devotees humbly prostrate at his three-eyed form, pleading for his protective hand to be raised in divine blessing and mercy. The hymn concludes with a plea of complete surrender, inviting everyone to daily bow at the holy feet of Lord Shambhu.

Slokam : Worship Vishvanatha, the Lord of the sacred city of Varanasi, whose matted hair is adorned beautifully by the rippling waves of the River Ganga. His left side is eternally graced and beautified by Goddess Gauri. He is deeply dear to Lord Narayana, the destroyer of the pride of Kamadeva (the god of love), and the supreme master of Varanasi.

Pallavi :  Focuses on Lord Shiva in his blue-throated form (Neelakantha) as the presiding deity of Ernakulam (Ernakulathappan), visualising him gracefully adorned with a garland of tender Bael (Koovalam) leaves draped across his sacred chest.

Anupallavi :  Here, Lord Shiva is addressed as the lotus-eyed ultimate truth and the source of all wisdom, as devotees gather together with folded hands to bow before his presence.

Charanam 1 :  The devotee prostrates at the three-eyed Lord's feet, hailing him as the master of time (Trikala jnani) and the three realms (Tripureswara), pleading with him to raise his hand in blessing and shower his divine grace upon them.

Charanam 2 :  The final verse expresses profound humility, with the devotee longing to be like the dust beneath the Lord's holy feet, while encouraging all devotees to make a daily habit of bowing at the sacred steps of Lord Shambhu's temple in Ernakulam.
