Meaning
Summary :     This hymn praises Lord Shiva as Ernakulathappan, highlighting both His iconic divine form and His compassionate intervention in the lives of devotees. The poet first visualizes Shiva as: Holding the deer and battle-axe; Bestowing blessings and protection through Varada and Abhaya mudras; The hymn then recalls the famous Kirātārjunīya episode where Arjuna performed severe penance to obtain the Pāśupata weapon. Shiva, accompanied by Pārvati, appeared in the guise of a tribal hunter and huntress. After testing Arjuna's devotion and valor, Shiva granted him divine blessings.
