Meaning
Summary :      This devotional stuti is dedicated to Lord Shiva (invoked as Sadashiva, Chandrashekhara, Parvathivallabha, Swayambhu, and Shambho) presiding over the sacred Chunakkara (Chunakkara Thiruvairoor Sree Mahadevar Temple) shrine in Alappuzha, Kerala. The hymn opens with a traditional Sanskrit dhyana shlokam celebrating Sadashiva as the supreme embodiment of tranquility and the foundational guide of righteousness. Addressing the Lord as the self-originated deity and the sin-purifying resident of Mount Kailash who reigns with worldly renown, the lyrics form an earnest supplication for deliverance from life's mounting distress, trials, and grief. Imbued with the chanting of the sacred Panchakshari mantra (Namah Shivaya), the composition resonates as a heartfelt prayer seeking the Lord's continuous protection and grace.

Shlokam : To Lord Sadashiva—the auspicious one, the bestower of auspiciousness, the peaceful and serene, the essence of purity, the supreme among the auspicious, and the initiator/guide of the sacred righteous path of Shiva—I bow down in perpetual reverence and adoration.

Pallavi : O Lord Chandrashekhara, who adorns the crescent moon upon His crown and gracefully resides in the benevolent land of Chunakkara; O beloved consort of Goddess Parvati!

Charanam-1 : Dispelling all our anguish and sorrows, please protect and deliver us; O sovereign Lord, O self-manifested Swayambhu, we fold our hands in humble worship before You; salutations unto Shiva, salutations unto Shiva, salutations unto Shiva, O Shambho!

Charanam-2 : O dweller of Mount Kailash, destroyer of all sins, who reigns with eternal renown throughout the entire world; dispelling all our anguish and sorrows, please protect us; O sovereign Lord, O self-manifested Swayambhu, we fold our hands in humble worship before You; salutations unto Shiva, salutations unto Shiva, salutations unto Shiva, O Shambho!
