Summary : This devotional hymn is a "Mangalam" dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayana / Hari), culminating in an integrated Hari-Hara prayer that also invokes Lord Shiva alongside the presiding deity of the sacred Vallabhanoor shrine (Vallabhanoor Sree Bhagavathy / Vishnu Temple). The song praises Lord Narayana as the vanquisher of the demon Naraka, the consort of lotus-dwelling Lakshmi, and the protector of the fourteen worlds reclining upon the cosmic serpent Adisesha. Highlighting the divine gestures of boons (varada) and fearlessness (abhaya), the verses form an earnest plea for continuous protection and divine grace, merging into the supreme refuge of the holy names of both Hari and Hara.
Stanza-1 : Glory to Narayana! Glory to the destroyer of the demon Naraka! Glory to the Lord, O Hari, who is extolled and praised by sage Narada! Glory, glory to the Lord with wide, blooming lotus eyes, who tenderly embraces the beautiful bosom of Goddess Lakshmi (the maiden dwelling on the lotus)!
Stanza-2 : Glory to the Supreme Sovereign Lord who reclines upon the king of serpents (Adisesha) and preserves and protects all the fourteen worlds! O embodiment of boundless mercy, protect me; glory to the compassionate Lord who showers perpetual kindness!
Stanza-3 : I take refuge in the supreme Master who holds the divine mudras of granting boons (varada) and absolute fearlessness (abhaya); I take refuge in the Lord/Mother who flourishes gracefully in Vallabhanoor; salutations and refuge unto Lord Hari Narayana, and eternal refuge in Hara Hara Shiva Shiva!
