Meaning
Summary :    This devotional hymn is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, invoked in His joyous and sublime cosmic dancing form as Narthana Ganapathi (also addressed as Gajamukha and Vighneshwara). The hymn begins with the classical Sanskrit invocation celebrating Him as the son of Uma who removes all obstacles and sorrows, followed by verses extolling Him as the treasure of virtues who captures the heart. It highlights His celestial standing as one venerated by Lord Vishnu, the supreme son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Katyayani, and the affectionate elder brother of Lord Murugan. Adorned with a lustrous crown and melodious anklets, the dancing Lord is implored to reign within the devotee's consciousness and bestow divine protection over the earth. No specific earthly temple or shrine is mentioned in the verses of the hymn.

Shlokam : I bow before the lotus feet of Lord Vighneshwara, the elephant-faced Lord who is served by the hosts of celestial attendants (Bhootas) and ganas, who partakes of the essence of wood-apple (kapittha) and rose-apple (jambu) fruits, the beloved son of Goddess Uma, and the supreme cause of the destruction of all sorrow.

Pallavi : O dancing Ganapati (Narthana Ganapathi), boundless treasure trove of noble and exalted virtues! O Lord with the majestic face of an elephant in rut, come and radiate brightly within my consciousness and heart!

Anupallavi : Revered and worshipped by Achyuta (Lord Vishnu), O guardian and protector of this earth! O noble and celebrated son of the destroyer of the three citadels (Lord Shiva / Tripurari)!

Charanam-1 : O Lord graceful as a noble elephant, enchanting in Your curved form and sporting delightful movements; O exalted and cherished elder brother of the rooster-bearing Lord Murugan (Kukkuda Dhara)! O lover of divine Kadambari melody/nectar, beloved son of Goddess Katyayani, adorned with an exquisite crown (koteera) and sweet chiming anklets (noopura)!
