Summary :       This devotional hymn is an earnest supplication dedicated to Lord Sastha / Ayyappa (invoked as Bhoothanatha, Shankaratmaja, and Shabaran) presiding over the historic Chamravattam Sree Dharma Sastha Temple (Chamravatteshan), situated amidst the sacred waters of the Bharathappuzha in Malappuram, Kerala. Extolling the deity's lotus countenance, moon-adorned crown, and ornaments smeared with sacred vermilion, the verses recount how sages like Narada and hosts of celestial beings perpetually revere His holy feet. The hymn celebrates the Lord as the vanquisher of evil and the guardian of the righteous who bestows all prosperity. Acknowledging mortal foolishness and spiritual faults, the devotee pleads for divine compassion to wash away accumulated sins, purify the wavering mind, and grant constant refuge and protection.

Pallavi : O Lord of Chamravattam renowned across the earth, O Lord of Sabari! O lotus-faced one, protect and deliver me, O Sri Bhoothanatha!

Anupallavi : O Lord, bestow Your divine grace upon me without delay; O beautiful and radiant Lord, dwelling amidst the holy waters, of valorous prowess, worshipped and adored by Narada!

Charanam-1 : Hosts of gods and assemblies of venerable sages serve and extol Your holy lotus feet, O Lord; O Lord of the Bhootas, Sovereign of the universe, whose crown is adorned with the crescent moon! You who are served by loving devotees, slayer of evil forces, protector of the righteous, and bestower of abundant prosperity.

Charanam-2 : Adorned with bangles, gem-studded necklaces, radiant earrings, and ornaments smeared with sacred vermilion; I bow down before Your holy feet so that all afflictions and sins may be eradicated; O lotus-eyed Lord, son of Lord Shankara, shower Your benevolent, compassionate glance upon me!

Completely eradicate all the accumulated sins of this utterly foolish servant; knowing the inner truth of my being, please guard and protect me with loving care; even if I am wicked, please test, examine, and purify my mind and heart!
