Meaning
Summary :       This devotional hymn is an earnest adoration dedicated to Lord Shiva in His majestic cosmic dancer manifestation as Nataraja. The verses celebrate Him as the living essence of the primordial cosmic sound (Parabrahma Naada) and the eternal companion of Goddess Parvati (Girija). It details His iconic divine attributes: holding the rhythmic damaru drum and sacred trident, smeared with holy ash, clad in tiger skin, bearing the crescent moon and the holy river Ganga in His matted hair, and carrying the deadly Kalakoota poison in His throat as a testament to cosmic self-sacrifice. Visualizing His presence on the snow-capped Himalayan peaks alongside Goddess Uma, the song forms a heartfelt prostration before the dancing Lord of the universe.

Pallavi : As the supreme cosmic truth personifying the primordial sound of the absolute Brahman, and as the divine life-breath and eternal soul of Goddess Sati reborn as the daughter of the mountain (Girija/Parvati).

Anupallavi : Holding in sacred hands the sounding damaru drum that beats in cosmic rhythm, O dancing Nataraja who performs the celestial dance, I bow down before You with deep reverence and melody.

Charanam-1 : Residing atop the lofty snowy peaks of the Himalayas as a peerless precious gem, completely detached and cloaked in the vastness of the cosmic space (Digambara), radiating a pure and serene essence cool and clear as pristine snow, O dancing Nataraja, I bow before You in adoration.

Charanam-2 : With a dark, fearsome serpent resting within the dense coils of matted locks, smeared generously with sacred holy ash (vibhuti) from crown to toe, and glowing with the pure effulgence of a blossoming night lotus, O dancing Nataraja, I bow before You with reverence.

Charanam-3 : Adorned strikingly in an astonishing garment fashioned from tiger skin, balancing cosmic order across holy hands bearing the trident and divine gestures, with meaningful spiritual eyes and the cool crescent moon adorning the crest, O dancing Nataraja, I bow before You in adoration.

Charanam-4 : With serpents coiling around the throat where the virulent Kalakoota poison is held as the supreme emblem of self-sacrifice and cosmic preservation, and with the holy river Ganga resting calmly upon the head devoid of pride, O dancing Nataraja, I bow before You with reverence.

Charanam-5 : Adorned with sacred, handsome garlands around the firm shoulders, bearing the third eye that symbolizes unyielding fierce fury, yet standing united in cosmic illusion with the mysterious Goddess Uma, O dancing Nataraja, I bow before You in deep devotion.
