Meaning
Summary :     This traditional Malayalam devotional hymn is dedicated to Nagaraja (the divine serpent king, revered as Ananta, Sesha, and Vasuki). The song venerates the Serpent Lord as the sovereign protector of the earth and the fulfiller of all pure desires, who is celebrated both as the sacred ornament of Lord Shiva (the enemy of Kama) and the beloved couch of Lord Narayana (Lord Vishnu). The verses form an earnest prayer for divine compassion, entreating the deity to alleviate mounting karmic distress, cure chronic illnesses and afflictions, and grant boons of well-being to surrender-seeking devotees. The concluding shlokam invokes the sacred lineage of the prime cosmic serpents (Navanagas) to bestow protection and spiritual serenity.

Pallavi : O supreme divine embodiment who protects the entire earth and fulfills the deepest desires and prayers of devotees! O adornment of the enemy of Kamadeva (Lord Shiva), I bow before You continuously in humble devotion.

Anupallavi : Without letting me fall deeply into dreadful tribulations, sorrows, and worldly miseries, O enchanting divine form, please protect and deliver me, O Lord beloved of Narayana!

Charanam-1 : With Your captivating eyes brimming with boundless compassion, please look upon and hear all my immense distresses and grief, O vast ocean of mercy! Driving far away unceasing ailments, afflictions, and physical diseases, joyfully bestow boons and auspicious blessings upon Your devoted seekers, O Lord of the exalted serpents!

Shlokam : I invoke and meditate upon the divine serpent lords—Ananta, Vasuki, Shesha, Padmanabha, Kambala, Shankhapala, Dhritarashtra, Takshaka, and Kaliya.
