Summary : This devotional hymn is an earnest supplication dedicated to Lord Ganesha (invoked as Ganaadhipa, Akhuvaaha, and Guhasodara), venerating Him as the radiant sovereign leader of the celestial hosts. Extolling His iconic elephant form adorned with his broken tusk and fragrant ichor that draws swarms of bees, the verses celebrate Him as the divine son of the crescent-crowned Lord Shiva and the charming nephew of Lord Padmanabha (Vishnu). The song portrays the deity as the dispeller of all afflictions and the merciful grantor of boons whose lotus feet fulfill all prayers. Worshipped as the supreme source of wisdom, knowledge, and prosperity, the hymn is a prayer for constant divine grace and protection.
Pallavi : Protect and preserve me, O Lord and sovereign leader of the Ganas (Ganaadhipa), whose divine form radiates with effulgent splendor!
Anupallavi : You who faithfully nourish, sustain, and guard those who surrender unto You; endowed with an exquisite, handsome countenance majestic like that of a noble elephant!
Charanam-1 : Beloved son born of Lord Shiva who wears the crescent sliver of the moon upon His crest; vanquisher and subduer of hosts of demonic forces and afflictions; whose sacred life exploits bring delight to the nectar-like face of Brahma and the celestials; whose sacred lotus feet fulfill every cherished desire and spiritual longing of devotees!
Charanam-2 : Attracting swarms of hovering bees that gather around the sweet, fragrant rut fluid (ichor) flowing continuously from Your temples; holding Your own broken tusk gracefully in Your hand; endowed with sublime virtues, riding upon the mouse vehicle (Akhuvaaha), peerless and incomparable elder brother of Lord Guha (Subrahmanya)!
Charanam-3 : O divine nephew of the holy, pure, and charming Lord Padmanabha (Lord Vishnu); supreme bestower of profound learning, supreme wisdom, boundless spiritual wealth, prosperity, and joy upon assemblies of humble devotees, O vast and endless fountainhead of compassion!
