Meaning
Summary :    This devotional hymn is an earnest adoration and prayer of surrender dedicated to Lord Ganesha (Ganapathi / Vighneshwara), invoked as the primordial embodiment of Omkara, the beloved son of Lord Shiva (Shambhusutha / Shankaranandana), and the sovereign leader of the Ganas (Sree Gananatha). The verses celebrate His divine elephant-headed countenance (Mathangavadana), His auspicious form holding sweet modakas, His mount the mouse (Mooshika vahana), and His fondness for traditional offerings like appam, aval, ada, and the sweetness of sacred learning (aksharamadhuram). Extolling Him as Siddhi Vinayaka and the brother of Lord Skanda (Kartikeya), the hymn invokes Him as the primal deity worshipped at the beginning of all endeavors to remove obstacles and bestow supreme peace.

Pallavi : Salutations to the Lord whose form is the sacred flow of the primordial Omkara, the beloved son of Lord Shankara and Shambhu.

Anupallavi : He who is the primal form of creation, the bestower and embodiment of supreme joy, endowed with a radiant, serene countenance, and supremely pure.
Charanam-1 : The beloved child of Goddess Maya (Parvati), possessing the face of a noble elephant, holding sweet modakas in His hand, endowed with a magnificent large body; riding upon the mouse mount, enchanting the mind, and bestowing all auspiciousness, salutations to Sri Gananatha!

Charanam-2 : Possessing an elephant face, He is the first to be invoked and worshipped at the inception of all auspicious deeds; the eternal support serving all beings, of the nature of pure bliss and divine consciousness; while fond of offerings of appam, aval (beaten rice), and ada, He is fondest of the nectar-sweetness of letters, wisdom, and learning.

Charanam-3 : The divine brother of Lord Skanda (Murugan), radiant with the cool luster of the moon, Siddhi Vinayaka, the supreme sovereign Lord of celestials; endowed with exquisite virtues, reverently worshipped by gurus and sages, served by the host of Ganas, the mighty elephant-faced leader of all!
