Meaning
|
Summary : This hymn sings the glory of Lord Shiva. The first stanza visualizes His iconic, serene appearance: the crescent moon gracing His hair, deadly serpents converted into elegant bracelets and garlands, and His absolute spiritual supremacy acknowledged by Lord Brahma himself. The second stanza transitions into His grand mythological acts of cosmic protection—celebrating Him as the savior who swallowed the Halahala poison of Vasukis to protect creation, and the warrior who shattered the unassailable triple cities of the Asuras (Tripurantaka). The prayer builds to a beautiful culmination by bowing completely to this supreme protector in His localized form as the beloved deity presiding over Rishinagakulam (Ernakulam Mahadeva Temple).
