Meaning
Summary :     This devotional song is an adoration addressed directly to one's own mind, urging continuous remembrance and worship of Lord Shiva in His cosmic dance form as Nataraja. The hymn extols the Lord as Gangadhara crowned with the crescent moon, the radiant Kanaka Sabhapati of the Golden Hall worshipped by the Sanakadi sages, and the wielder of the sacred axe and deer. The verses specifically invoke Lord Nataraja residing in the sacred cosmic city of the Golden Hall (Chidambaram), beseeching the dispeller of worldly sorrows to grant protection and peace. The lyrics highlight the humble surrender of the devotee Subramanya Dasa, who praises the sweet-spoken, supreme ruler of the cosmos.

Charanam-1 : O mind, constantly chant and worship Lord Shankara, who adorns His crest with the crescent moon, holds the holy Ganga, removes all distress and suffering, and possesses supreme cosmic power.

Charanam-2 : O mind, worship Lord Shiva Shankara every single day—the dancing Nataraja who resides gracefully in the sacred realm of the Golden Hall (Chidambaram), the blue-throated one (Kalakantha), endowed with enchanting, compassionate eyes.

Charanam-3 : O mind, revere Lord Shankara, the supreme sovereign Lord of the Golden Hall (Kanaka Sabhapati), who is venerated by ancient sages headed by Sanaka, blazing with the brilliance of ten million suns, the supreme Lord of all existence.

Charanam-4 : O mind, worship Lord Shiva Nataraja, who holds the deer and the battle-axe in His hands, whose words are sweet as honey, and who is praised and served faithfully by this servant, Subramanya Dasa.
