Summary : This hymn is dedicated to Lord Shiva (referred to in the verse as Thampuran, the supreme master), specifically in his cosmic dancer form (Nataraja) as he performs his divine dance in the cremation ground (chudalayil) at Pazhiyoor. Adorned beautifully with the moon, a serpent, a deer, an axe, and a tiger skin, Lord Shiva's divine form glows with sacred ash and cosmic fire. As Lord Vishnu and celestial musicians sing melodies, Shiva dances in perfect harmony to the traditional beats of Chempada and Adantha. Though he performs his cosmic dance in the fearsome cremation ground, he does so out of ultimate love and deep compassion for his devotees. Residing in the sacred land of Pazhiyoor, let us all bow down and worship this supreme, magnificent Lord.
