Summary : This traditional devotional hymn is dedicated to Lord Ganapathi residing at the famed Thiruvaazhappally Temple. It vividly details the elaborate preparation of the temple's signature giant Appam offering (Ottappam / Maha Ganapathi Appam), made by combining unpolished raw rice, pure cow's ghee, jaggery, ten coconuts, and twenty-four kadali plantains. Alongside traditional items like holy Ganga water, sacred thumba and tulsi flowers, the offering is presented in complete reverence. The hymn culminates in heartfelt surrender and prostration at the holy lotus feet of Lord Ganapathi of Thiruvaazhappally.
Pallavi : The hymn describes sacred offerings and divine adornments, including a garland of delicate white thumba (Ceylon slitwort) flowers, holy waters of the Ganga, swaying serpents, and fragrant holy basil (tulsi) blossoms.
Anupallavi : It lists the traditional ritual ingredients prepared for the holy offering: jaggery, ten coconuts, and twenty-four sweet kadali plantains.
Charanam-1 : Combining a large sacred measure of raw unpolished rice (unakkalari) and three measures of pure cow's ghee with all the ingredients, a giant sacred sweet cake (maha-appam) is prepared and offered before everyone in devotion.
Charanam-2 : Dedicated to Lord Ganapathi of Thiruvaazhappally—my sovereign Lord Ganesha—the devotee bows down deeply in total surrender, reverently folding hands at His sacred lotus feet.
