Summary : This prayer is dedicated to Lord Krishna, specifically addressing Him as the deity of the famous Thiruvarppu Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala ("Thiruvaarppamarnna"). The verses praise His incarnation as Devaki's son to destroy the forces of evil and protect the righteous.
(Uddhathanmaaraam daanavanmaare)
To the arrogant and haughty demons,
(Baddhavairamodukkuvaanaayi)
In order to put an end to their deep-rooted enmity (by destroying them),
(Adbhuthaangiyaam Devaki thannil)
Inside the wondrously beautiful Devaki,
(Uthbhavicchoru daivame jaya)
O Lord who manifested/was born! Glory to Thee!
(Sarppa shayanaa Maadhavaa Thiru-)
O Lord Madhava, who reclines upon the serpent (Ananta),
O Ocean of Mercy who dwells gracefully in Thiruvarppu! Glory to Thee!
(Eppozhum thava paadapankajam)
Always, upon Your lotus-like feet,
(Bhakthiyode vanangunnen jaya)
I bow down with deep devotion. Glory to Thee !
