Meaning
Summary :     This devotional stuti is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali (invoked as Ambika, Maheshwari, and Jagadeeshwari) presiding over the sacred Moodambadi (Moodambadi Sree Bhagavathy Temple) shrine. The composition extols the Mother's formidable roudra iconography—her ember-blazing eyes, knit brows, and awe-inspiring presence—while celebrating her maternal tenderness that bestows nectar-like glances of mercy upon devotees. Depicted as the ruler of the three realms, the personification of Nada, the Vedas, and primordial Shakti, she is approached as the ultimate refuge for the human mind wandering amidst earthly desires. The hymn forms an earnest plea for spiritual shelter and eternal protection at the feet of the Mother of Moodambadi.

Shlokam : With burning cinder-like eyes blazing fierce leaping fire, arched knit brows, an imposing forehead realm, and an awe-inspiring, formidable form, yet granting boundless refuge through Her entire physical manifestation from head to toe; may You abide forever within my inner spiritual vision as the blissful nectar of compassionate glances, O Mother of Moodambadi, O Goddess Bhadrakali, salutations unto You, salutations again and again.

Pallavi : O Mother Ambika of fierce form, terrifying countenance, and wrathful disposition; O Devi, O Devi, formidable cosmic protectress, salutations and prostrations unto You, O Bhadrakali.

Charanam-1 : O Mother Ambika who embodies the primordial cosmic sound (Nada), the living wisdom of the Vedas, and supreme feminine power (Shakti); O Devi, formidable cosmic protectress, salutations and prostrations unto You, O Bhadrakali.

Charanam-2 : O Sovereign Ruler, Maheshwari, Parameshwari, Empress of all the worlds; O Devi, formidable cosmic protectress, salutations and prostrations unto You, O Bhadrakali.

Charanam-3 : Sovereign Empress presiding over the three worlds, Mother residing at Moodambadi, I take refuge in You; O lotus-eyed Goddess adorned with the expanse of the azure boundless sky, I surrender unto You; O eternal Mother and protectress who grants benevolent shelter, You are my sole sanctuary; becoming the steadfast pillar of support for the vulnerable human heart where countless desires reside like indigenous forest-dwellers, O Mother, You alone are my ultimate refuge.
