Summary : This hymn celebrates Lord Krishna (Kannan) in his divine childhood form as he resides gracefully at the Thottappally Sree Krishnaswami Temple. It vividly depicts his innocent playfulness—bathing with friends, rolling over manchadi seeds, and enchanting Vrindavan with his sweet flute. Recalling his legendary feats, such as defeating his tyrant uncle Kamsa, stealing butter, and revealing the three worlds inside his mouth, the poem urges devotees to hold Krishna in their hearts. Present at Thottappally as a smiling young boy who radiates brilliance like a gem-adorned cloud, the Lord bestows heart's joy and removes all worldly suffering from those who seek him.
Pallavi : Playing and bathing together with other children, and playfully rolling/treading over glossy red manchadi seeds kept in a large uruli (shallow vessel).
Anupallavi : Holding the flute of Vrindavan to his lips, the gem-hued (dark-complexioned) Lord enjoys performing various divine playings (leelas).
Charanam 1 : The one who severed the head of his maternal uncle Kamsa, who stole butter from hanging pots (uri) using clever tricks, and who once showed all the three worlds inside his mouth—to cure all worldly ailments and suffering, bring that Krishna into your heart.
Charanam 2 : Residing gracefully at Thottappally, wearing a gentle smile to bestow heart's joy, he took the disguise of a young boy, captivating everyone like a glittering cloud adorned with jewels
